Engine Machinist/Experienced Trade Assistant

HM GEM Engines is seeking an experienced Engine Machinist / Trade Assistant to join the workshop team at Algester, Brisbane. The newly purpose-built facility is equipped with modern machinery and technology, providing an opportunity to work on a wide range of diesel and gas engine components, including some of the latest equipment available in the industry. The role will involve a variety of engine machining and workshop duties with a strong understanding of heavy diesel and gas engine components.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Component surveying, measuring and reporting
n
- AMC machining
n
- Crankshaft and camshaft polishing
n
- General machining and workshop duties associated with engine reconditioning
n
- Following manufacturer and industry specifications
n
- Maintaining accurate documentation and quality records
n

n

About you

n

n
- Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning, Machining or a related trade, preferably within engine or heavy diesel and gas applications
n
- Experience in cylinder head reconditioning, crankshaft grinding, connecting rod and cylinder block machining
n
- CNC machining experience, particularly Rottler, AMC or similar equipment
n
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
n
- Ability to interpret,



source and follow industrial and manufacturer specifications
n
- Strong understanding of quality control and accurate process documentation
n
- Forklift licence is desirable
n
- Willingness to train and mentor apprentices
n
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Commitment to working within a quality-endorsed workplace
