About CKA Studio

n

CKA Studio is an architecture, interiors and town planning practice in Glen Iris, working across apartment, mixed-use and commercial development in Melbourne. We take projects from feasibility and planning approval through to construction issue and completion.

Planning, architecture and interiors are part of the same studio, so our documentation is shaped by the planning strategy behind it rather than inheriting it second-hand.

We are expanding our 2026 pipeline and looking for an architect to take ownership of delivery on multi-storey projects.

n

The role

n

You will lead documentation packages on multi-storey buildings from planning through to construction issue and site, running consultant coordination and responding to authority and certifier requirements.

n

This is a role with real ownership. You will not be documenting someone else's package to someone else's brief.

n

What you need to have documented

n

Demonstrated Australian documentation experience on at least one of the following:

n

- Apartments (Class 2)
n
- Offices and commercial (Class 5 / 6)
n
- Hotels and serviced apartments (Class 3)
n
- Student accommodation
n
- Aged care and seniors living (Class 9c)
n
- Childcare and early learning (Class 9b)
n

Applications where experience is limited to single dwellings, dual occupancies, townhouse developments, interior fitouts or residential alterations will not progress. This work involves fire engineering, essential services coordination and multi-consultant documentation,



and the role is not structured to support that transition.

n

You should also have worked personally on at least two of: a building permit set, a construction-issue (IFC) package, a facade or weatherproofing package, a tender or pricing package, a planning or secondary consent submission, or construction-stage services including RFIs, shop drawing review and site inspections. Experience

n

n
- Three or more years post-graduate in an Australian practice, concentrated on the buildings above. We weight typology depth over years served.
n
- ARBV registration, or on the pathway. We will support the remainder, including study time and examination costs.
n
- M.Arch or equivalent.
n
- Advanced Revit: model setup, families, sheet management and consultant model coordination.
n
- Working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and Victorian planning processes.
n

Experience gained at a single practice is not a disadvantage. We are interested in what you have delivered.

n

Useful, not essential: Enscape, Lumion or Twinmotion; Rhino; AutoCAD; experience under design and construct or novated contracts.
