Job Description

As a Branch Manager at Med-X, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Newcastle Branch, overseeing logistics, waste processing, fleet operations, administration and people management to ensure the branch delivers safe, efficient and exceptional service.

Working closely with the National Manager and broader Med-X team, you'll ensure operational objectives are achieved while maintaining high standards of customer service, WHS compliance, team performance and financial outcomes.

Success in this role comes from your ability to lead people, manage complex operations, solve problems proactively and create a high-performing, safety-first culture while identifying opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

n

- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Newcastle Branch.
n
- Ensure the smooth running of logistics and client services, with appropriate resources available to meet planned activity levels.
n
- Coordinate client services across hub routes, ensuring compliance with safety, fatigue management and operational requirements.
n
- Assist operational supervisors to manage staff to ensure driver hours, collections and resourcing are aligned with operational budgets.
n
- Oversee waste processing operations, vehicle and fleet activities and branch administration.
n
- Monitor staff performance, provide regular feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
n
- Maintain all staff WHS requirements, including PPE, training and record keeping.
n
- Promote a zero-harm philosophy by ensuring all hazards and incidents are reported promptly and corrective actions are implemented.
n
- Work closely with management and key stakeholders to identify and resolve operational and site issues.
n
- Promote a strong safety-first culture while maintaining high levels of customer service.
n
- Support business growth and profitability by maximising operational efficiency and identifying local and regional opportunities with regular face to face interactions with existing and potential new clients.

About You

You're an experienced operational leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering strong business outcomes.

You'll bring

- Experience managing a branch, operations team, processing facility or similar environment.
n
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
n
- Experience overseeing the operations of a processing plant and motor vehicle fleet.
n
- A solid understanding of Profit & Loss management and commercial performance.
n
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining WHS procedures, training and record keeping.
n
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organisational skills.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Strategic and cutting-edge business acumen with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced operational environment.

- A proven ability to create a positive team culture that encourages high performance, accountability and morale.

Highly Regarded

- Experience in healthcare, clinical waste, medical waste, logistics, environmental services or another essential services industry.
n
- Experience managing transport operations, driver compliance or fleet-based teams.
n
- Experience working within a highly regulated WHS environment.
