About the Role

n

We're looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic / Service Manager to join the team at Queanbeyan Tyrepower.

n

This is a true hybrid role — approximately 50% hands-on mechanical work and 50% service management, customer support and workshop coordination.

n

You'll be working on the tools while also helping manage the day-to-day flow of the workshop, supporting customers, quoting work, allocating jobs, checking quality, and helping keep the team organised and productive.

n

This role would suit a qualified mechanic who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is ready to step into a hands-on leadership position.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Carrying out mechanical servicing, repairs and inspections
n
- Working on brakes, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs
n
- Assisting with diagnostics and fault finding
n
- Supporting tyre, wheel alignment and workshop operations as required
n
- Speaking with customers, explaining work required and providing advice
n
- Quoting mechanical work and following up customer enquiries
n
- Managing workshop workflow, job priorities and daily bookings
n
- Allocating jobs and supporting the workshop team
n
- Checking work quality and helping maintain strong workshop standards
n
- Ensuring safe work practices and a clean, organised workshop
n
- Working closely with the Store Manager and ownership team
n

What We're Looking For

n





To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a qualified Motor Mechanic with strong practical experience.

n

You will need:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic
n
- Solid experience in vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs
n
- Experience with brakes, suspension, steering and general repairs
n
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
n
- Good communication and customer service skills
n
- Confidence quoting work and explaining repairs to customers
n
- Ability to organise workshop workflow and manage priorities
n
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
n
- Solid focus on safety, quality and doing the job properly
n
- Tyre, wheel alignment or tyre industry experience highly regarded
n
