Public Sector People are partnering with a metropolitan Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Strategic Open Space Plannerfor a long-term contract through to approximately June 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a significant urban renewal precinct, helping shape the future delivery of public open space, recreation facilities and community infrastructure.

About the Role You will:
n
n
- Develop strategic open space and recreation planning
n
- Help determine future open space and facility requirements
n
- Contribute to concept designs, masterplans and precinct planning
n
- Provide strategic and design input into future public spaces
n
- Manage projects and external consultants
n
- Work closely with Council, government and community stakeholders
n
- Prepare transparent reports, strategies and presentations
n
n
About You
n
We're looking for someone with:
n
n
- Experience in strategic open space planning
n
- A background in landscape architecture, landscape design, urban design or planning
n
- Strong project management and strategic thinking skills
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
- Government experience highly regarded
n
n
