Northern Star Resources currently has a pivotal senior leadership opportunity for a Mining Manager, reporting to the General Manager,to join the site based team at our Kalgoorlie Operations (Kanowna Belle & South Kalgoorlie Operations. This role is working on a permanent full time 5:2/4:3 Residential or 4/3 FIFO roster.

Here is what awaits you.

- Develop, implement, manage, review and improve safe systems of work for our current underground operations to ensure compliance to legislation and company policies.
n
- Develop and implement mining strategies to safely develop and operate the underground operations to meet the company's strategic goals and production targets.
n
- Manage, supervise and guide the operational teams including internal technical personnel, external principal contractors and Northern Star Mining Services (NSMS).
n
- Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company's operating requirements and maximise, as practicable, the underground mine's positive contribution to the operation and driving compliance to plan.
n
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and application of departmental procedures and ensure all risks associated with mining (remnant and newly established mining fronts)
are identified and addressed to the highest level.
n
- Analyse and report on mining operational performance to identify any early interventions required to maintain performance.
n
- Develop a succession plan for roles within the technical services team, and other teams as appropriate.
n
n

Experience:
n
n
- Extensive underground hard rock mining experience in a leadership capacity.
n
- Applicable previous management and statutory position holding experience.
n
- Solid communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Practical experience in a senior leadership position on a large-scale operation.
n
- Strong financial acumen and good understanding of contractor management business model.
n
n
Qualifications:
n
n
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Detailed working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
n
- Certification for Work Health and safety act 2020 and work health and safety (Mines) Regs 2022 for Senior Site Executive.
n
n
