Gitsham Automotive is Australia's leading manufacturer of light commercial fleet fitout systems, and home to Australia's only ADR independently crash-tested service body system. Backed by Bott Storage Systems and a national installation network, we design, manufacture and deliver premium vehicle fitout solutions for Defence, government, emergency services, utilities and commercial fleets across Australia. We're scaling fast, and we need high performers who thrive under pressure, take ownership, and move at the pace the business demands.
About The Role
We're looking for a Manufacturing Scheduler & Planner who lives in the detail, someone who can build a production schedule that actually holds, keep purchasing tightly aligned to it, and be relied on to know exactly where every job and every order stands. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the Production Manager, you'll operate in a rapid-paced, constantly changing environment where priorities shift daily as the business grows.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain a detailed, accurate master production schedule, based on the order book, capacity and material availability
Own purchasing for production, raising and managing purchase orders for raw materials, components and consumables in line with the schedule
Proactively track material lead times and supplier delivery performance, flagging shortages or delays before they impact production
Work closely and daily with the Production Manager to sequence and prioritise jobs based on capacity, priority and material readiness, adjusting quickly as priorities change
Maintain the master schedule and purchasing data within SYSPRO/MRP as the single source of truth, eliminating manual spreadsheets and workarounds
Work closely with Design & Engineering to ensure BOM accuracy feeds correctly into scheduling and purchasing
Track and report on time delivery (DIFOT) performance, identifying at-risk orders and coordinating recovery plans
Manage day-to-day supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing and lead times to support production deadlines
Maintain accurate inventory records and support structured cycle counting and stock take processes
Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks and material shortages early, and resolve them before they cause delays
What You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience in production planning/scheduling within a manufacturing setting, metal fabrication, automotive or similar highly regarded
Strong purchasing and procurement experience, including supplier management, negotiation and lead time management
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, comfortable managing complex, detailed schedules, BOMs and purchase orders
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SYSPRO experience highly regarded
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify root causes of delays rather than just reacting to them
Excellent communication skills, able to coordinate confidently across production, design, sales and suppliers
A high performer who thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, with strong attention to detail
