- Broad in-house role across contracts, compliance, risk and disputes.
- Work directly with senior executives and key business stakeholders.
- Hybrid workplace 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
About the role:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology, logistics, supplier, partnership, NDA and product agreements.
- Providing commercially focused advice to internal stakeholders on contractual negotiations and legal risk.
- Advising on Australian Consumer Law, including pricing, promotions, misleading and deceptive conduct and product quality.
- Advising on privacy, data protection, intellectual property and product liability matters.
- Supporting compliance with the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules.
- Developing and maintaining internal legal and risk policies.
- Supporting disputes, mediation, arbitration and litigation, including regulatory requests, subpoenas and letters of demand.
- Managing external law firms and ensuring advice is commercially appropriate and cost-effective.
The ideal candidate:
Australian-admitted lawyer with 5 years’+ PQE, gained within an in-house corporate legal environment or commercial law firm.
- Solid commercial contracting experience.
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders in a practical and solutions-focused way.
- Experience within retail or eCommerce, particularly involving Australian Consumer Law, privacy and data, IP or product liability, will be highly regarded but is not essential.
