About the role

n

As Consulting Team Leader – Metals, you will provide both technical and people leadership to a team of experienced mining consultants.

n

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of consulting assignments while developing the capability, utilisation and performance of your team.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

- Lead the delivery of metalliferous mining consulting projects across the mining life cycle.
n
- Provide senior technical input, strategic advice and problem-solving support across complex mining assignments.
n
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality standards.
n
- Work directly with mining clients to understand their operational, technical and commercial challenges.
n
- Build trusted relationships with mining companies, project owners and key industry stakeholders.
n
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of mining consultants, supporting their technical and professional development.
n
- Build a high-performing consulting team with a strong focus on technical excellence, collaboration and client value.
n
- Support effective resource planning and allocation across the metals consulting team.
n
- Drive utilisation, project performance and continuous improvement across the team.
n




- Identify opportunities to expand Xenith's services and client relationships within the metals sector.
n
- Support the preparation of proposals, tenders, scopes of work and client presentations.
n
- Work closely with Regional Managers to develop and execute business development strategies.
n
- Collaborate with Xenith's broader technical teams to deliver multidisciplinary solutions.
n
- Maintain strong knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends and challenges affecting the metalliferous mining sector.

About you

n

You will be an experienced mining professional with a strong consulting background and the ability to operate across technical delivery, people leadership, client engagement and business development.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
n
- 15+ years' experience in the mining industry, including at least 8 years in mining consulting.
n
- Strong experience within metalliferous mining, with exposure to commodities such as gold, copper, nickel, lithium, iron ore or other base and precious metals highly regarded.
n
- Extensive experience delivering technical consulting assignments for mining companies and project owners.
n
- A strong understanding of mining operations, technical studies, project development and the broader mining life cycle.
n
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing technical professionals.
n




- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the consulting business model.
n
- A demonstrated ability to develop new client relationships and generate business opportunities.
n
- Solid networks across the mining and resources sector.
n
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
n
- The ability to influence senior clients and stakeholders and operate confidently at an executive level.
n
- A strategic, entrepreneurial and growth-focused mindset.

- The ability to balance technical excellence with commercial outcomes and client value.
