About The Opportunity
We are seeking a teaching-focused Senior Lecturer to play a key role in delivering and shaping postgraduate Leadership (Health and Human Services) programs at the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master's levels. Working closely with the Program Lead, the successful candidate will provide outstanding learning experiences for students, contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement, and lead quality assurance activities to ensure courses meet university and national professional standards. The role also involves collaborating with academic colleagues to deliver innovative, place-based education, with opportunities to coordinate courses and provide leadership and support to academic staff. While primarily teaching-focused, the position may also offer scope for a research component and adaptable employment arrangements where appropriate.
Accountabilities And Outcomes
- Deliver exceptional postgraduate teaching and learning experiences across Leadership (Health and Human Services) programs.
- Lead the design, coordination and continuous improvement of contemporary, high-quality curriculum and assessment.
- Drive course quality and innovation through evidence-based improvements informed by student feedback, outcomes and industry developments.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with health sector stakeholders, including the Tasmanian Department of Health, to ensure programs remain relevant and impactful.
- Provide academic leadership and mentorship that supports staff wellbeing, collaboration and excellence in teaching.
Role Specific Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience and demonstrated excellence in achievement in University-level teaching and learning.
- A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
- Substantial evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with a record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry, and the wider community.
- Extensive relevant Health and Human Services sector experience.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $138,536 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
