POSITION SUMMARY:

n

Forbes Allied Services is provider of NDIS funded supports for people experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues.

n

Community-based support worker position providing support for people to access the community and build their capacity and independence.

n

Reporting to Team Leader

n

SKILLS:

n

Ability to engage with clients, build rapport, motivate and build positive professional relationships.

n

Work in a strengths-based recovery-oriented mode of practice.

n

EXPERIENCE:

n

Experience working with persons with complex and acute mental health presentations.

n

Experience working within and NDIS framework (desirable).

n

QUALIFICATIONS:

n

Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services or related field. Or willingness to commence study.

n

We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our growing team.

n





The support worker will report to their team leader for the provision of mental health support work duties including:

n

n
- Engaging people with complex mental health issues and support needs
n
- Using a coaching model, supporting NDIS participants in achieving their individual goals
n
- Identify, report and manage client related risk issues
n
- Keywork as well as work within care teams
n
- Provide direction to other Forbes Allied Services staff members involved in care teams
n

n

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:

n

n
- Relevant experience in working in a similar role
n
- Robust organisational and communication skills
n
- Current satisfactory police check and working with children's check
n
- Be willing to undertake Cert 4 mental health
n
