Job Description
Key Responsibilities
n
Client & Head Contract Management
n
n
- Review, negotiate, and administer head contracts with builders, developers, and clients
n
- Identify contractual, commercial, and operational risks prior to project commencement
n
- Negotiate contract terms, variations, extensions of time, and commercial outcomes
n
- Work closely with Directors and Project Managers during tender and contract award stages
n
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project deliverables
n
- Manage client correspondence relating to contractual and commercial matters
n
- Assist in dispute resolution and negotiation where required
n
n
Commercial Management
n
n
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, margins, and cost control
n
- Prepare and manage progress claims, variations, delay claims, and payment schedules
n
- Track project financial performance and identify commercial risks/opportunities
n
- Support profitability through strong commercial oversight
n
n
Subcontractor & Supplier Agreements
n
n
- Prepare, review, and administer subcontract agreements and supplier purchase orders
n
- Coordinate procurement of subcontractors, plant, materials, and services
n
- Assess subcontractor scopes, pricing, and compliance documentation
n
- Manage subcontractor claims and payment processes
n
n
Project Support & Administration
n
n
- Maintain project registers including RFIs, variations, notices, and correspondence
n
- Support Project Managers with project delivery and contractual administration
n
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate and maintained
n
- Assist with programme tracking and reporting requirements
n
n
Compliance & Risk Management
n
n
- Ensure projects comply with contractual, legal, and company requirements
n
- Support WHS and environmental compliance documentation
n
- Maintain robust record keeping and document control processes
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
Essential
n
n
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Contract Administration within construction, demolition, civil, or related industries
n
- Strong experience negotiating contracts with builders and developers
n
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, commercial risk, and project delivery
n
- Experience managing variations, claims, EOTs, and commercial negotiations
n
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
n
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
n
- High-level organisational and problem-solving ability
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Experience within demolition, remediation, asbestos, or civil construction
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or similar
n
- Experience with project management and construction software systems
n
n
