MidCoast Council is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor/Certifier to join the Development Assessment and Building Certification department.

The Opportunity

MidCoast Council is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor/Certifier to join the Development Assessment and Building Certification department.

This position is responsible for delivering building certification and approval services, including assessing and determining a range of development and certification applications, undertaking critical stage building inspections, providing professional technical advice and supporting regulatory compliance across the community.

In this role, you will:

n

n
- Assess development and certification applications and provide expert advice on building, planning and regulatory matters.
n
- Undertake inspections, monitor compliance and investigate building and development matters.
n




- Deliver regulatory enforcement functions, including notices, orders, legal proceedings and stakeholder engagement.
n

What you'll bring

n

n
- Registration as a Registered Certifier (Building Surveying) under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018, or eligibility to obtain registration at the appropriate level.
n
- Extensive experience as a Building Surveyor or in a similar role, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications recognised under NSW legislation.
n
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant NSW legislation, regulations and the National Construction Code.
n
- Excellent communication, organisational, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
n
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
n

What we offer?

n

Salary: Commencing salary circa $98,300 - $108,000 p.a. plus superannuation. (dependent on skills and experience)

n

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

n

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
