This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major demolition project and play a key role in ensuring contractors, employees and stakeholders work safely in a high-risk workplace.

About the Role
n
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work closely with operational teams to drive practical safety outcomes during a significant demolition project. The successful candidate will provide support, guidance and leadership to ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with legislative and company requirements.

In this role, you will:
n
n
- Providing coaching, mentoring and support to promote proactive safety behaviours.
n
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of RTL's HSEQ Management System.
n
- Conducting workplace inspections, safety observations and compliance audits.
n
- Facilitating risk assessments, SWMS reviews and critical control verification activities.
n
- Assisting in the development and review of project-specific procedures, work instructions and safety documentation.
n
- Leading incident investigations, including ICAM investigations where required,
and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
n
- Developing and delivering toolbox talks, safety alerts and HSE communications.
n
- Monitoring safety performance and maintaining accurate HSE records, reporting and data.
n
- Working collaboratively with contractors and project stakeholders to ensure safe execution of demolition works.

About You
n
n
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
n
- Demonstrated experience in construction, mining or heavy industry
n
- Sound knowledge of the OHS Act 2007 and OHS Regulations 2017 (VIC)
n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safe outcomes on site
n
- High attention to detail and strong Microsoft 365 capability
n
- Experience in incident investigation methodologies
n
- Exposure to multi-site or project-based environments
n
- Previous experience supporting demolition or construction projects.

Additional Information

- This is a fixed-term contract position supporting the Yallourn demolition project.
n
- The contract term will be aligned to the practical completion of demolition activities.
n
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
n
- This is a residential role only – FIFO is not available
