ROLE – Mechanical Engineering Manager (Aerospace)

SALARY - $150,000 - $160,000 per annum, dependent on experience

n

TYPE – Permanent

n

LOCATION – Brisbane, QLD

n

My client is a specialist, high-tech manufacturer in the Aerospace industry. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead their growing Mechanical Design team in the Brisbane area on a permanent basis.

n

The Mechanical Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

n

n
- Strong management experience - training people, managing workloads, completing performance reviews, setting objectives and building high-performance teams
n
- At least 8-10 years of experience in Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering
n
- Have a robust background in Structural Design and Engineering across Aerospace, Aviation, Space, Motorsport or a similar industry
n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
n
- Strong experience designing complex mechanical systems and structures
n
- Highly proficient with 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks or similar
n
- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance analysis, DFM, DFA and engineering best practices
n
- Experience performing hand calculations, FEA, verification, validation,



testing and root cause analysis
n
- Familiar with relevant Aerospace standards and certification requirements
n
- Proven experience delivering products from concept through to manufacture and qualification
n
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
n

The Mechanical Engineering Manager role will involve:

n

n
- Leading the mechanical design and development of aerospace systems and components
n
- Managing a team of Mechanical Engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring and support
n
- Managing engineering workloads, priorities, resources and project deliverables
n
- Producing detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
n
- Conducting engineering analysis including tolerance studies, FEA and design verification
n
- Managing the full product development lifecycle from concept through to production and qualification
n
- Supporting prototype builds, testing, integration and validation activities
n
- Reviewing and approving engineering drawings, calculations and design changes
n
- Acting as a key technical point of contact for mechanical engineering matters across the wider business
n
