The Opportunity

n

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Tier 2 mechanical contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and high-specification building services projects across Melbourne. We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer with HVAC / mechanical services experience to join their delivery team and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from procurement through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step with a contractor that offers exposure to technically complex projects, strong project teams and genuine career progression.

The Role

n

- Assisting with the management and delivery of HVAC and mechanical services packages
n
- Reviewing designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
n
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
n
- Supporting procurement, tendering and contract administrationMonitoring project costs, variations, progress and commercial outcomes
n
- Coordinating shop drawings, RFIs, design changes and technical submissions
n
- Supporting project programming and construction planning
n
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
n
- Working closely with site teams,



clients and consultants to resolve project issues
n

About You

n

We are looking for a mechanically qualified engineer who has gained experience within the Australian construction / building services market.

n

n
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
n
- 3+ years' experience within mechanical services / HVAC
n
- Contractor-side or subcontractor experience
n
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical services
n
- Experience working across construction projects from design through to delivery
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
n
- The ability to work autonomously while being part of a wider project team
n

Candidates with experience across data centres, healthcare, commercial, industrial or other complex building services projects will be highly regarded.
