The role

n

As a Mental Health Nurse, you'll provide primary mental health care within a correctional environment and work with people experiencing a range of complex mental health presentations.

n

Your day-to-day work may include:

n

n
- Running mental health clinics
n
- Mental health assessments and clinical reviews
n
- Case management
n




- AOD education and support
n
- Mental health assessments for transfers within the prison system
n
- Risk assessment and management
n
- Care planning and therapeutic interventions
n
- Working closely with medical, mental health and correctional teams
n
- Responding to ad hoc clinical needs
n

Where are the opportunities?

Current vacancies are available across sites including Ravenhall, MRC, Barwon/Lara, Marngoneet/Karreenga, Western Plains and Loddon/Middleton, with a range of roster patterns available.

n

Depending on the location, opportunities include:

n

n
- Ravenhall: 24/7 roster
n
- Barwon/Lara: 6:00am-6:00pm + on-call
n
- Loddon/Middleton: 8:00am-4:00pm + on-call
n
- MRC and other locations: full-time opportunities
n

n

About you

n

You'll be a Mental Health Registered Nurse with:

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration
n
- Minimum Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
n
- Minimum 12 months' Mental Health Nursing experience within the past 3 years
n
- Eligibility to meet the client's mental health credentialling requirements
n
- Strong clinical assessment, risk management and decision-making skills
n
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n

n

Previous correctional or forensic mental health experience is not essential.

n
