What You'll Be Doing

n

Design and build RESTful APIs for our front-end applications and partners, ensuring robust performance and scalability.

n

- Designing and building RESTful APIs for our front-end applications and partners

- Integrating with a range of external services such as Salesforce, Auth0, Cloudflare, and more
n
- Architecting solutions that meet our high availability, security, and performance requirements
n
- Maintaining our infrastructure on a major cloud provider to support our rapid growth
n
- Writing well-structured, tested, and documented code that's a pleasure to maintain
n
- Mentor and guide junior backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
n
- Working closely with our Product, Design, and other teams to refine deliverables and bring new features to life
n

We're seeking a passionate backend engineer who can solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions with ease

n

Required Experience:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years of commercial Ruby on Rails experience
n
- Proven experience integrating with multiple external APIs
n
- Experience with database design and performance tuning, particularly with PostgreSQL
n
- Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure with AWS, GCP, or Heroku
n
- Experience with testing frameworks like Rspec
n
- Experience with high-volume background job processing frameworks like Sidekiq
n
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
n
- Understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices.
n
- Strong experience designing and maintaining both public and private REST APIs
n
- Proficiency with development tools like Linear or Jira
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n

- Experience with security best practices (e.g., OWASP, STRIDE)
n
- Experience with synchronising data between distributed systems
n
- Experience in high-volume production environments with strict availability SLAs
n
- Knowledge of the financial services industry (lending or corporate finance)
n
- Experience navigating GDPR and/or SOC2
n
