Job Description

A global manufacturer of industrial equipment is now hiring an Industrial Electrician to support the installation, servicing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of specialised industrial equipment.

In this role, you'll work directly with customers providing electrical and mechanical fault-finding, preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, commissioning, and technical support.

n

The role is based in Melbourne and involves regular travel across Victoria and South Australia.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding, repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
n
- Install, commission, test, and validate new equipment at customer sites.
n
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently, with a strong focus on achieving same-day repairs where possible.
n
- Carry out service rebuilds, annual preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment upgrades.
n
- Work across electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, control systems, and industrial equipment.
n
- Support basic industrial networking and data capture activities, including IP addressing and customer equipment information.
n
- Provide customer training, technical guidance, and professional on-site support.
n
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation using relevant systems.

- Travel throughout Victoria and South Australia, including regular overnight stays and occasional weekend work.
n
- Work closely with internal engineering, service, and customer teams to deliver high-quality technical support.

Requirements

n

n
- Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence or equivalent Australian electrical trade licence.
n
- Strong experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably within a field service, machinery, manufacturing, food processing, packaging, or OEM setting.
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical faults as well as electrical issues.
n
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control equipment.
n
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
n
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to confidently represent the business on-site.
n
- Comfortable working independently and managing customer issues calmly under pressure.
n
- Willingness to travel including overnight stays and some weekend work.
n
- Strong computer literacy and experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems is advantageous.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
