About the Role
AFPG is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our leadership team at an exciting and pivotal point in the evolution of the business. This is a genuinely challenging, high-impact opportunity within a rapidly growing organisation, and it comes with significant scope for career advancement as the Group continues to expand.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, you will oversee the Group's Compliance and Paraplanning functions, with the opportunity to influence how these teams operate, collaborate and support the wider business.
This is a broad and highly visible leadership role for someone who combines strong technical knowledge, a solid corporate background, and a practical, people-focused approach. You will work across teams, locations and functions to strengthen quality, improve processes and help shape the way AFPG operates into the future.
About AFPG
AFPG is a national financial services group with 10 offices across Australia, bringing together financial advice, accounting, consumer lending, funds management and client services.
We have built robust momentum in recent years and are continuing to invest in our people, leadership, systems and technology as we strengthen the business for the future. AFPG has a strong corporate foundation and genuine scale, and we are growing rapidly — creating a steady pipeline of new opportunities for people who want to build a long-term career with us.
For the right person, this is a chance to be part of something meaningful, work alongside a collaborative leadership team, and take on a challenging, high-profile role with real scope for career progression in a business with plenty of ambition and opportunity ahead.
Key Responsibilities
As Group Head, you will oversee key functions:
Paraplanning
You will oversee the Group’s paraplanning function,
responsible for producing high-quality, compliant advice documents.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the timely and efficient production of compliant advice documents.
- Maintaining high standards of technical accuracy, quality and consistency.
- Providing leadership to a paraplanning team of approximately 15 people across Sydney, Manila and Cebu.
- Supporting workflow, capacity planning, people management and quality control.
- Maintaining oversight of a team currently producing approximately 170 advice documents per month.
- Providing technical guidance on complex advice matters.
- Maintaining oversight of the Group’s approved product list.
- Identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and consistency, including the use of AI and technology.
Compliance
You will oversee the Group’s compliance function and ensure AFPG continues to meet its legislative, regulatory and governance obligations.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the Group’s compliance framework across financial advice, accounting, consumer lending and funds management.
- Leading and supporting a compliance team across Sydney and Manila.
- Ensuring policies, procedures and compliance frameworks remain current, practical and effective.
- Supporting the business to identify, manage and reduce compliance risk.
- Providing practical guidance to senior leaders and business units on compliance obligations and regulatory change.
- Promoting a strong compliance culture across the business.
Leadership
This is a senior role within AFPG,
with responsibility for leading multiple teams across different locations and business functions.
You will work closely with the Deputy CEO, senior executives and business leaders to strengthen quality, compliance, efficiency and commercial outcomes across the Group.
About You
You will be a senior financial services professional with strong compliance, technical advice and leadership experience.
You will bring:
- A strong corporate background, with experience operating in a structured, professional or corporate services environment.
- Extensive knowledge of the financial services compliance framework, including relevant legislation and regulatory obligations.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial advice, advice documentation and advice compliance.
- Significant people management and leadership experience.
- Experience leading multi-location or multi-function teams.
- Strong understanding of paraplanning, advice production and quality assurance processes.
- Experience within financial advice, funds management, accounting, lending or broader financial services.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A practical, commercial and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to lead change, improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
- An appetite for a challenging, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing business, and the drive to grow into broader leadership opportunities as AFPG continues to expand.
- Experience with technology, workflow improvement or AI-enabled efficiency initiatives would be highly regarded.
If you are an experienced financial services leader looking for a challenging, high-impact role within a rapidly growing business — with genuine, ongoing opportunities for career advancement — we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
