The Role
n
We are seeking an experienced .NET API Developer (Azure Event Development) to join a high-performing integration and engineering team.
n
This is a hands‐on role focused on developing enterprise APIs, event‐driven integrations, and cloud‐native backend services. You will play a key role in building and supporting scalable integration solutions using .NET, Azure messaging technologies, and modern API management practices.
n
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, event‐driven architecture, Azure integration services, and API management, along with a proven ability to deliver secure, high‐performance solutions within enterprise environments.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop, enhance, and support enterprise APIs and backend services using C# and .NET.
n
- Build event‐driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, Event Hub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
n
- Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed integration solutions.
n
- Develop and maintain REST APIs supporting enterprise applications and platforms.
n
- Integrate APIs with Apigee and support API governance, security, lifecycle management, and operational standards.
n
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and support production integrations and API services.
n
- Implement secure API authentication and authorisation using OAuth and JWT standards.
n
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
n
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers, and platform teams to deliver integration requirements.
n
- Support API monitoring, performance tuning, operational support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
- Maintain technical documentation, integration standards, and API specifications.
n
- Contribute to modernisation and cloud transformation programs using Azure‐native technologies.
n
n
What You'll Need
n
n
- Experience as a .NET Developer, API Developer, Integration Developer, or similar role.
n
- Strong hands‐on experience with:
n
- C#+ .NET Core / .NET 6++ REST API development+ SQL Server
n
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise APIs and microservices.
n
- Strong experience with event‐driven development using:
n
- Azure Service Bus+ Azure Event Hub+ Kafka+ RabbitMQ+ Or similar messaging platforms
n
- Experience working with Apigee API Gateway, API security, API lifecycle management, and API governance frameworks.
n
- Strong understanding of JSON, REST, OAuth, JWT, and secure integration principles.
n
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
n
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting production integration environments.
n
- Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Ability to work closely with business and technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
n

Desirable Skills
n

- Experience with Docker containerisation and OpenShift Container Platform.
n
- Experience developing cloud‐native applications on Microsoft Azure.
n
- Knowledge of event‐driven architecture and distributed systems design patterns.
n
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
n
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Application Insights, Grafana, or Splunk.
n
- Experience supporting enterprise integration and transformation programs.
n
- Understanding of API governance, security frameworks, and release management practices.
n
- Exposure to financial services, banking, insurance, or highly regulated industries.
