Hermes Capital Australia is a boutique private credit and commercial finance firm providing tailored, agile and practical funding solutions to businesses across a range of industries.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a commercially minded, switched-on Commercial Credit Analyst to join our team and support transactions from initial assessment through to settlement.

n

This isn't just a number-crunching role.

n

You need to be comfortable with financial statements, cash flow, credit analysis and spreadsheets. But just as importantly, you need common sense, curiosity, critical thinking and practical commercial judgement.

n

We want someone who can look beyond the numbers and ask:

- What is actually happening in this business?

- Is the narrative reflected in the financials?

- Where does repayment really come from?
n
- What could go wrong?
n
- What information actually matters, what's noise, and what's missing?
n
- Can the risks be addressed through sensible structuring?
n
- What needs to happen to get this deal settled?

What You'll Do

n

You'll work closely with our origination team and senior management across the full deal lifecycle.

n

Credit & Commercial Analysis

n

n
- Assess commercial finance applications and analyse financial and supporting information
n
- Understand the business, cash flow, servicing, security and exit strategy behind each transaction
n
- Identify inconsistencies, missing information and risks requiring further investigation
n
- Undertake company, industry and transaction-specific research
n
- Prepare concise credit submissions with explicit recommendations
n




- Help structure commercially sensible transactions while appropriately managing risk
n

Deal Execution & Settlements

n

n
- Take ownership of approved transactions through to settlement
n
- Coordinate borrowers, brokers, solicitors, valuers, funders and other stakeholders
n
- Manage conditions precedent, documentation and settlement requirements
n
- Anticipate and resolve issues before they delay a transaction
n
- Ensure settlement figures and documentation are accurate
n
- Keep deals moving and stakeholders informed
n

You don't need to be an AI expert or programmer. You do need to be comfortable using AI to make yourself a better analyst - to interrogate information, research businesses and industries, identify anomalies, compare documents, accelerate analysis and improve workflows.

You'll be expected to verify information, challenge assumptions and form your own commercial view.

Who We're Looking For

You'll ideally have experience in commercial lending, private credit, banking, finance or a related analytical role. But your exact background matters less than how you think and operate.

Experience in commercial credit or lending and a relevant degree will be highly regarded, but capability, judgement and attitude matter more to us than collecting credentials.
