Business Manager

n

This is an prospect to take a senior leadership role in a values-driven organisation, strengthening financial performance, compliance, and business operations while supporting quality services and sustainable growth.

The Business Manager will report to Chief Operations Officer and will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial performance and supporting effective business operations. Drawing on a strong accounting background, the role ensures sound financial management, statutory compliance, effective business planning, accurate reporting, and operational efficiency.

Key Selection Criteria:

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
n
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance, accounting, or business management role.
n
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing business operations and organisational performance.
n
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance requirements.
n
- Highly developed leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Advanced proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
n
- Experience reporting to Boards or Executive Leadership Teams.
n
- Experience within the not-for-profit, corporate, government, or industry-specific sector relevant to the organisation.

About The Role and Responsibilities:

n

Financial Management

n

n
- Manage the organisation's accounting and finance functions.
n
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
n
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
n
- Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and recommendations.
n
- Ensure effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
n




- Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors, accountants, and financial institutions.
n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and financial regulations.
n

Business Operations

n

n
- Support in the managing day-to-day business operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
n
- Monitorfinance teampolicies and procedures and make recommendations.
n
- Lead the implementation of new projectsand business improvement initiatives.
n

n

Strategic Planning and Reporting

n

n
- Contribute to the development and execution of organisational strategy.
n
- Provide financial and commercial insights to support business decisions.
n
- Monitor organisational finance performance in line with key performance indicators.
n
- Prepare reports and presentations for the executive team and Board.
n

Compliance and Risk Management

n

- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

- Maintain internal controls and risk management frameworks.
n
- Monitor business risks and implement mitigation strategies.
n
- Coordinate insurance, licensing, and regulatory reporting obligations.

People and Stakeholder Management

- Lead and mentor finance team members.
n
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
