We're seeking expressions of interest from a passionate and community-mindedFirst Nationsperson to join our team inLightning Ridge NSW (Yuwaalaraay Country). This is afull-time role(75 hours per fortnight) . You'll be helping young people feel strong, supported and connected to services in your community.

About the Role

n

As anAboriginal Youth Wellbeing Workerwith ourheadspace Outreach Program, you'll play a key role in supporting your mob and helping young people feel strong and connected. Your work might include:

- Encouraging young people to reach out for supportand sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
n
- Providing warm, culturally safe guidanceto help young people (aged 12‐25) find the right services and support when they need it.
n
- Bringing people together through community activitiesthat support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
n

What You'll Bring

- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander(this is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
n
- A qualification or relevant industry experience inMental Health, Primary Health, Community Services
n
- Strongproblem-solving and decision-making skills, with a sense of integrity and initiative.
n
- Greatcommunication and people skillsand the ability to manage your time well.
n
- Confidence workingindependently and as part of a team.
n
- Confidence usingMicrosoft Officeand generalcomputer skills.
n
- Avalid Australian Driver's Licenceand willingness to travel for work – this rolewill require regular outreachto communities within Western NSW
