About the Role

n

As a Junior Accountant, you will support the broader Finance team across a range of accounting and financial administration activities. This role would suit an early-career accountant looking to build strong foundations across month-end, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting.

n

You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and have the opportunity to gain exposure to the financial operations of a large, complex retail organisation.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
n
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
n
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
n
- Process journals, accruals and prepayments
n
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
n
- Support the preparation of financial reports and management accounts
n
- Assist with invoice processing and payment runs as required
n
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
n
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
n




- Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting information when required
n
- Support the Finance team with budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities
n
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the Finance function
n
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the wider Finance team
n

About You

n

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant who is keen to develop their career within a globally recognised organisation.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
n
- 1-2 years' experience in an accounting or finance environment
n
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles
n
- Experience with reconciliations and general ledger processes
n
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
n
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
n
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
n
- The ability to work collaboratively within a busy Finance team
n

n

CA/CPA studies, or an intention to commence professional studies, would be highly regarded.
