About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quality & Technical Manager to lead the quality, food safety, sanitation and technical compliance functions at our Casino manufacturing site.
Reporting to the APAC Quality & Technical Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products, processes and site operations meet company, customer, GFSI, HACCP, export, regulatory and market access requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will provide technical guidance across the site, lead quality and food safety systems, support audit readiness and drive continuous improvement. You will work closely with Site Leadership, Production, Engineering, Maintenance, R&D;, Procurement and APAC Quality teams to protect product safety, legality, quality and customer confidence.
What You Will Do
1. Food Safety & Compliance: Lead and maintain HACCP, food safety and regulatory compliance across the Casino site, ensuring requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.
2. Quality Systems & Audits: Maintain and continuously improve site quality systems while leading audit readiness, internal audits, corrective actions and compliance activities.
3. Sanitation & Hygiene: Oversee sanitation and hygiene standards across the site, ensuring cleaning programs, verification processes and practices consistently support food safety and regulatory requirements.
4. Product Quality & Customer Requirements: Ensure products and processes meet company, customer and regulatory requirements, while managing specifications, customer quality requirements and complaint trends.
5. Continuous Improvement: Use quality data,
audit outcomes, complaints and operational insights to identify risks, improve processes and strengthen food safety and quality performance.
6. People Leadership: Lead, coach and develop the Quality, Technical and Sanitation teams, building capability and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and food safety ownership.
What You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in food manufacturing, preferably within meat, protein, ready-to-eat, export-regulated or highly regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GFSI standards, GMP, sanitation, food safety systems and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing audits, customer compliance programs, corrective actions and quality systems.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing quality, technical, laboratory or sanitation teams.
- Strong ability to interpret regulatory, customer and technical requirements and translate them into practical site processes.
- Solid communication, influencing, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing operational, customer and regulatory priorities.
Desirable
- Experience with DAFF and export-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Aus-Meat and export market access requirements.
- HACCP Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor or similar audit training.
- Experience with QMS software, PLM systems, specification databases or customer quality portals.
- Experience supporting NPD, supplier approval and specification management processes.
