As our Lead Jeweller & Jewellery Designer, you will oversee our workshop and work alongside and mentor our apprentice. This is a senior position with genuine creative input and responsibility. You will have the chance to be creative, with dedicated time to design and oversee manufacture one-off statement pieces for the Latitude Jewellers brand, alongside custom-made work.
Key responsibilities
- Designing and directing the manufacturing of bespoke custom-made jewellery
- Working directly with clients to interpret their ideas and create beautiful, wearable designs
- Designing original one-off pieces for the Latitude Jewellers collection
- Remodelling customers' existing jewellery and gemstones
- Producing design concepts and taking pieces from initial idea through to finished jewellery
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation and workflow of the workshop
- Mentoring and guiding our jeweller and apprentice
- Maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship and quality control
- Working collaboratively with our sales team
- Contributing ideas for new pieces, collections and creative directions
About you
- A highly skilled jeweller with excellent attention to detail and pride in their workmanship
- A creative designer who can bring original ideas to the table and turn those ideas into beautiful jewellery
- A leader who is comfortable taking responsibility for the workshop and helping develop an apprentice
- Self-motivated and organised — someone who doesn't need to be continually managed and can take ownership of their role
- Collaborative and enjoys being part of a team
- Open to direction and able to work within the Latitude aesthetic while also bringing their own creativity and experience
- Neat, tidy and professional in their work practices
- Experience with jewellery CAD design would be highly regarded, but is not essential
