Clarence Valley Anglican School (CVAS) is a contemporary, co-educational Anglican school located in Grafton serving students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 . Inclusive, caring and positive, CVAS is a connected community where students are known, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential. With Principal Karin Lisle retiring at the end of 2026, the School Council seeks an outstanding educational leader to guide CVAS into its next chapter. The appointee will provide strategic, educational, spiritual and organisational leadership across the School.

The Principal will strengthen teaching quality, student learning, wellbeing and achievement; develop staff and leadership capability; and lead strategic improvement, innovation and change through an inclusive, evidence-informed approach. They will also guide the continued development of the school’s infrastructure and resources while ensuring long-term sustainability.

A visible and highly relational leader, the Principal will build trusted relationships with students, staff and families, strengthen engagement with the Diocese and wider Clarence Valley community, and authentically promote the School’s mission, values and ethos.

The successful candidate will combine educational expertise with strategic thinking, sound judgement and strong organisational leadership. They will bring the energy, optimism and capacity to honour what is distinctive about CVAS while confidently shaping its future.

Key Selection Criteria

- Practising Christian with a strong commitment to the Anglican mission,



values and ethos of the School.
- Proven educational leadership in strengthening teaching quality, student learning, wellbeing and achievement.
- Experience in leading strategic improvement, innovation and change through an inclusive, evidence-informed approach.
- Capacity to develop high-performing staff and leaders through coaching, qualified learning and effective performance development.
- Demonstrated strategic and operational leadership across people, finance, risk, compliance and resources.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and strengthen engagement with students, staff, families, the Anglican community and wider Clarence Valley.

Applicants must hold appropriate and relevant academic qualifications, current teacher accreditation in New South Wales or the capacity to obtain and maintain accreditation, and a current Working with Children Check. Postgraduate qualifications in education, leadership, management or a related discipline are highly desirable.
