What you’ll do

Part of the buying team to deliver a range that is better for customers, easy to execute and enhances the customer perception of our value, quality & range. The primary role of a buyer is to source high quality produce to meet customer demand at competitive pricing, delivering to target sales, profit, market share & voice of customer objectives.

You will:

- KPI Performance Management: Deliver performance through category growth plans across key financial metrics (sales, profit, inventory) alongside non-financial metrics (Voice of Supplier, Customer, and Team).
- Commercial Pricing & System Accuracy: Negotiate competitive pricing to achieve optimal customer and financial outcomes,



while accurately maintaining Woolworths pricing systems (e.g., PMR, SAP).
- Quality Assurance & Stakeholder Engagement: Monitor DC product quality specifications, communicate seasonal adjustments, and build effective relationships across internal and external operational networks.
- Stock Availability & Inventory Control: Ensure daily store stock requirements are met while managing distribution centre inventory levels in line with company standards.
- Culture & Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and foster a high-performing team culture aligned with Woolworths values.

What you’ll bring

- Supplier Management & Influencing: Demonstrate strong negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to manage and develop supplier partnerships effectively.
- Commercial & Category Acumen: Possess a solid understanding of commercial principles, customer behavior, and category management, with prior experience in buying or replenishment being advantageous.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Feature excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders and collaborate seamlessly within the wider team.
- Organisation & Technical Proficiency: Utilise strong time management and organizational capabilities, backed by computer literacy in MS Excel and Google Apps.
- Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Display a growth mindset with a strong willingness to learn,



collaborate, and adapt quickly to changing business conditions.
