Full-Time, Fixed-Term (5 Years) | Villanova College | Coorparoo
We are seeking an experienced curriculum leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Director of Curriculum and Studies, commencing Term 1, 2027.
This is a senior Middle Leadership position with direct responsibility for the operational leadership of curriculum implementation, assessment, reporting and student academic progress across Years 5 to 12. Working closely with the Dean of Teaching and Learning, Heads of Faculty and the broader Teaching and Learning leadership team, you will be the key operational link between Villanova's strategic teaching and learning agenda and its day-to-day curriculum, assessment, reporting and administration functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum alignment, coverage and implementation of the Australian Curriculum across Years 5-12, in collaboration with Heads of Faculty
- Hold primary responsibility for the College's curriculum mapping platform (Atlas), including annual administration, staff onboarding and analysis of curriculum alignment data
- Coordinate and administer subject selection processes and manage timetabling solutions, ensuring accurate, timely data across the College
- Lead assessment calendars, moderation processes and reporting cycles, quality assuring assessment design and reporting integrity College-wide
- Coordinate QCAA compliance, QCE requirements and senior certification processes
- Oversee the College's annual NAPLAN administration, in accordance with QCAA and ACARA guidelines
- Hold content ownership of myVilla (Schoolbox LMS), working with the Director of e-Learning on platform expectations
- Provide direct line management to the College Literacy and Improvement Lead and College Numeracy and Improvement Lead
- Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team,
Head of Faculty Team and Teaching and Learning Team as a collaborative, evidence-informed leader
- Present portfolio updates and reports to the College Board, College Leadership Team and other College forums as required
About You
The successful applicant will:
- Bring significant experience in curriculum leadership, assessment and reporting within a secondary or Years 5-12 school setting
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, QCAA requirements and QCE/senior certification processes
- Have proven ability to lead and develop staff, including experience managing direct reports
- Be highly organised, with strong data and systems literacy (curriculum mapping and timetabling platforms)
- Communicate clearly and confidently with staff, students, families and governance bodies
- Support and participate in the spiritual life and mission of the College, modelling the College's values and nurturing the holistic development of students
- Hold relevant teaching qualifications (Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent)
- Hold current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration

Classification and Remuneration
This position is classified as a Tier 5 Program Leader (Middle Leadership) under the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Agreement (Religious Institute Schools of Queensland) 2023–2026. Appointment to this Position of Leadership is for an initial period of five years, subject to satisfactory performance review, and carries an underlying teaching load as agreed upon appointment.
