About your new company
This is a rare opportunity to join the project owner's team and play a key role in the delivery of a significant, long-term industrial project based in the Hunter region.
As the project moves into major procurement and delivery, an experienced Senior QHSE Manager is required to provide leadership across safety, quality and contractor performance.
This is a long-term contract opportunity commencing ASAP and expected to continue through to mid-2028.
To be considered, you must be based in, or within reasonable commuting distance of, Newcastle or the Hunter region.
About your new role
Working as part of the project owner's team, you will provide senior QHSE leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement and contractor engagement through construction, commissioning and handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading project-wide QHSE strategy, systems and initiatives
- Developing and implementing safety and quality management plans
- Driving a strong and proactive safety culture
- Managing audits, inspections and compliance activities
- Monitoring contractor and subcontractor performance
- Managing quality assurance, quality control, ITPs and NCRs
- Supporting tender evaluations and contractor assessments
- Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Supporting commissioning and project handover
- Providing QHSE reporting and continuous improvement recommendations
About you
You are an experienced QHSE,
Safety or Quality professional with a strong background across major industrial, construction, infrastructure, energy or process-related projects.
You will ideally bring:
- 10+ years' experience across major projects or industrial environments
- Senior QHSE, Safety or Quality leadership experience
- EPC or EPCM project experience
- Experience on complex, high-value construction projects
- Solid contractor and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in industrial, energy, manufacturing, process plant or major hazard environments
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction, WHS or a related discipline
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and QHSE management systems
- A current White Card
Experience within hydrogen, industrial gases, high-pressure systems or hazardous environments will be highly regarded.
