About the role

Weldmet Fabrications is seeking a skilled Boilermaker/Fabricator to join our team on a full time basis. Based at our facility in Melrose Park, SA 5039, this role is fundamental to our operations, delivering high-quality fabrication and boilermaking services to our clients across various industries. As a Boilermaker/Fabricator, you will play a crucial part in transforming raw materials into precision-engineered components and structures that meet stringent industry standards and client specifications.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to plan fabrication work

- Measuring, marking and cutting metal materials using various tools and machinery

- Assembling metal components using welding, riveting, bolting and other joining techniques

- Operating boilermaking equipment and machinery to shape, bend and form metal

- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used

- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient project completion

- Adhering to all health and safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

- Maintaining a clean and organised work area

- Contributing to continuous improvement of fabrication processes and procedures

What we're looking for





- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in boilermaking, fabrication or welding

- Proven experience as a Boilermaker/Fabricator in an industrial or manufacturing workplace

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

- Strong knowledge of welding techniques and the ability to produce high-quality welds

- Competency in using hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery

- Understanding of metal properties, cutting, shaping and joining methods

- Ability to measure accurately and maintain tolerances

- A current and valid driver's licence is preferred

- Relevant certifications such as welding qualifications (e.g. NZQF or equivalent) would be advantageous

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

- A positive attitude towards health and safety in the workplace
