About Us:

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

PYMHWS is leading a bold and values-driven transformation in youth mental health care across Melbourne’s north and west. The Opportunity:

We are specifically seeking Senior Mental Health Clinicians (Grade 4 RPN, OT and Social Work / Grade 3 Psychologists) to join our Triage and Crisis Assessment Team (YAT). Clinicians with experience in CAT/ASIS and Triage, or relevant experience in areas such as Emergency Mental Health (EMH),

As a casual Senior Mental Health Clinician within PYMHWS, you will be a vital part of delivering compassionate and inclusive care to young people. This unique role requires flexibility and strong clinical skills to provide expert, person-centred care across a variety of clinical settings where it is needed most.

What You'll Do:

- Deliver evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions for young people with complex mental health needs.
- Manage and coordinate complex care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external providers.
- Implement robust risk assessments and safety planning to ensure the wellbeing of young people and staff.
- Advocate for the needs of young people, ensuring their voices are central to service delivery and decision-making.

About You:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Mental Health Clinician who is passionate about transforming youth mental health care. The ideal candidate is a cooperative team player with a strong clinical foundation and a commitment to our youth-first values.

- Eligible disciplines: Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric, Occupational Therapist,



Social Worker / Grade 3 Psychologist
- Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in tertiary and/or youth mental health and a demonstrated ability to supervise mental health clinicians, and function both autonomously and collaboratively with other clinical and organisational leaders
- Proven ability to manage complex care plans and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external service providers.
- Strong clinical skills in risk assessment, safety planning, and providing brief interventions for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build rapport with young people, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- High level of flexibility and reliability to thrive in a dynamic, varied work environment.
- A deep commitment to a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive approach to care.
