About the role

The Urban Development Coordinator leads and coordinates the City’s Urban Development Team to ensure that future engineering, drainage, parks, landscaping and natural environment assets delivered through development are appropriately planned, assessed, and constructed in accordance with the City’s’ requirements to ensure sustainable asset provision. The role is critical to managing financial and whole-of-life asset risk associated with assets contributed through development, by ensuring that accepted assets are fit for purpose, maintainable, compliant with City standards and appropriately reflected in asset registers to inform future operational and renewal forecasts.

The position provides senior technical leadership in the review of district and local structure plans, subdivision, and development, applications, technical engineering drawings, landscaping plans and associated documentation. This includes interpreting standards, resolving complex or non-standard matters, and providing authoritative advice across development engineering, stormwater management, traffic, environmental management, landscape and asset acceptance matters

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

- Coordinating the provision of technical advice for subdivision and development applications, District Structure Plans and Local Structure Plans regarding future engineering, parks, landscaping and natural workplace assets.
- Ensuring robust quality control mechanisms are undertaken to manage gifted assets, including site inspections and monitoring during construction, and direct rectification of quality issues with developers and contractors.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or similar equivalent
- Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence
- Current Construction Safety Awareness Training Card
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required




- Comprehensive knowledge of the development and subdivision process from initial application to final clearance of WAPC conditions including subdivision guidelines, Australian standards, AUS-SPEC and all relevant statutory requirements.
- Provide senior technical leadership in the review and resolution of traffic and development engineering matters.

The salary for this position will be from $130,570.00 to $152,107.78 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. At present, this position is allocated an operational vehicle, and the successful applicant will be eligible to commute usage.
