About the Role

As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical systems across a range of heavy mobile plant and equipment.

You will work on equipment operating in demanding environments and utilise your technical expertise to identify faults, develop practical solutions, and ensure machinery remains operational and productive.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy mobile plant and equipment
- Install, maintain, and test electrical and electronic systems
- Conduct breakdown and preventative maintenance activities




- Repair and modify wiring looms and associated electrical components
- Install and service mobile plant electrical accessories and control systems
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals
- Complete inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Contribute to minimising equipment downtime and maximising machine reliability

Skills & Experience

Essential:

- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience working on mobile plant, heavy vehicles, or industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Current Australian driver's licence

Highly Regarded:

- Mining, earthmoving, construction, or heavy equipment experience
- Experience with electrical installations and upgrades
- Auto air conditioning experience
- Exposure to custom wiring harnesses and control systems
- High Risk Licences, Working at Heights, or other relevant certifications
