About the role

The City of Salisbury is seeking a passionate and community-focused Inclusive Programs Facilitator to join the Community Diversity and Inclusion team on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE) for a 3-year fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Team Leader Community Diversity and Inclusion, you will develop, coordinate and deliver inclusive programs and activities that support people with disability to participate in their community, build confidence, develop skills and strengthen social connections. You will work closely with participants, families, carers, volunteers, community organisations and service providers to create welcoming and accessible opportunities that enhance wellbeing, independence and inclusion.

Your key responsibilities will include

- Developing and facilitating inclusive community programs and activities for people with disability.
- Building relationships with participants, families, carers and community stakeholders.
- Supporting co-design approaches that ensure participant voices inform program development.




- Establishing partnerships and referral pathways with disability organisations and community networks.
- Recruiting, inducting and supporting volunteers involved in program delivery.
- Promoting programs to maximise community participation and engagement.
- Monitoring participation, outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Assisting with reports, funding submissions and promotional materials.
- Supporting safe, accessible and welcoming environments for participants and volunteers.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to continuous program improvement.

About you

You are a compassionate and organised professional who is committed to strengthening community participation and inclusion. You enjoy building meaningful relationships, facilitating engaging activities and creating opportunities that empower people with disability to achieve their goals and connect with their community.

You will also have

- Experience developing, coordinating and facilitating community programs, activities or initiatives.
- Experience supporting participation of people with disability and other diverse community groups.
- Solid relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive practice, person-centred approaches and community development principles.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.




- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements within community environments.
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Desirable

- Experience within community services, disability support, social inclusion, recreation or community development.
- Qualifications or experience in community services, disability support, social work, recreation, education, youth work or a related discipline.
- Experience coordinating volunteers.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour support approaches.

Eligibility

A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and relevant screening clearances are required for this position.

This role requires flexibility to support community participation activities, including occasional evening, weekend and out-of-hours community events and programs.
