ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Marketing Officer creates, develops and delivers content across bought, owned and shared channels that engages and builds audiences across our venues, driving visitation and enhancing audience experiences in line with Museums Victoria's mission, vision and strategic objectives. The position is accountable for the successful development and implementation of content, marketing and promotional activity and supporting on major exhibition campaigns to builds specific audiences for MV's network of museums, programs and exhibitions, and delivers on visitation objectives. The role sits within the Marketing and Communications department and reports to the Marketing Manager.
Some of the key duties include:
· In consultation with the Marketing Manager, coordinate an integrated content marketing plan that engages audiences and builds visitation across MV's museums and venues, spanning programs, events and education.
· Plan, develop and implement promotional campaigns for exhibitions, programs and education teams across bought, owned and shared channels to drive physical and digital visitation and revenue.
· Plan photographic and video content to support the marketing plan,
and brief and manage internal and external producers to deliver on time and within budget.
· Manage project budgets and negotiate briefs and service outputs with external creative and media agencies to ensure effective spend and return on investment.
· Prepare post-campaign reports summarising performance, activity and ROI to support decision making for current and future campaigns.
The successful applicant will have:
· Sound experience developing promotional campaigns, including identity development and asset creation, delivered across a mix of integrated owned, shared and bought channels.
· Strong understanding and experience developing retail and commercially focused content across digital marketing channels, and how to leverage a variety of channels as part of a holistic marketing mix.
· Strong understanding and experience of brand management, both internal (brand strategy) and external (branded campaigns, asset management).
· Strong financial and analytical skills, including P&L;, ROI, budgets, forecasts and performance, with the ability to manage multiple budgets.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write design briefs, bought media briefs and tactical marketing plans that communicate ideas succinctly and with purpose.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is an ongoing, full-time position based across Museums Victoria's venues. The salary on offer is Grade 3, Value Range 1 – $81,496 per annum, pro rata + 12% Superannuation.
