Could you be our next Test Tech on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract at Newport we are looking for?
Join the X'Trapolis 2.0 Rolling Stock Project and play a key role in delivering Victoria's next generation of passenger trains. As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out testing and commissioning activities at the Newport Facility and across the Melbourne metropolitan rail network, ensuring trains are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct train inspections and preparation activities upon arrival at the commissioning site.
- Perform routine commissioning and support static and energetic validation testing in line with approved procedures.
- Complete testing activities and sign off relevant test specifications to meet delivery schedules.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues during commissioning and warranty phases.
- Prepare and issue accurate test reports, including documentation of failures and defects.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to address quality, reliability,
and performance issues.Ensure all commissioning and testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.

- Hold a Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence.
- Strong understanding of train systems, architecture, and electrical/mechanical sub-systems.
- Ability to interpret and work from test procedures, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in preparing accurate test reports and maintaining detailed commissioning records.
