About The Prospect
Ready to start building your career in Information Technology?
Bundaberg Regional Council is offering an exciting two-year traineeship based at our Bundaberg Service Centre,
giving you the opportunity to earn while you learn and gain practical experience working in Information Technology.
As our Information Technology (IT) Trainee, you will work towards completing ICT30120 - Certificate III in Information Technology while receiving hands-on training and experience as part of Council’s Information Services team.
Throughout the traineeship, you will develop practical IT skills by providing on-site and telephone-based support to Council employees. You will gain experience supporting PCs, laptops, printers and other devices; configuring and installing IT equipment and software; supporting telecommunications and business systems; and responding to IT requests and incidents. You will also learn to use Service Desk applications, maintain IT records and documentation, and work with suppliers and other service providers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, has a genuine interest in technology and enjoys helping people, and wants to build the skills and experience needed for a career in the Information Technology industry.
About You
You don’t need years of industry experience to apply. We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest, enthusiasm and passion for Information Technology who is ready to learn, develop their technical skills and contribute as part of a team.
To be successful in this traineeship, you will need to demonstrate:
- Successful completion of a Senior High School Certificate and the ability to successfully complete the traineeship and associated Certificate III in Information Technology.
- A genuine interest,
enthusiasm and passion for a career in the Information Technology industry, demonstrated through successful completion of Information Technology-related subjects undertaken throughout schooling.
- The ability to work successfully as part of a team, with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
It would also be desirable for you to have:
- Previous work experience in a customer service environment.
