About The Role:

Are you an experienced rates or revenue professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes and delivering great service to the community?

As our Rates Coordinator, you will lead the Rating Services Team to deliver accurate, compliant and customer-focused rates administration, while supporting a positive team culture built on accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

You will oversee key rating processes including rating data integrity, rates notices, customer communications, rebates, remissions and relief applications. You will work closely with internal teams to strengthen controls, improve systems and processes, and make rating information easier for customers and staff to understand.

About You:

- You have significant experience in rates, revenue, customer finance or a comparable local government environment.
- You are a confident people leader who can coach, support and develop a customer-facing operational team.
- You bring a resilient and positive approach, with the ability to guide a team through change, challenges and competing priorities.
- You are passionate about process improvement and enjoy finding practical ways to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, controls and customer experience.
- You have strong planning, prioritisation and workload coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail and data integrity.
- You can explain rating matters clearly and professionally to customers, staff and stakeholders,



including complex or sensitive enquiries.
- You can apply sound judgement within legislative, policy and delegation frameworks, and are committed to fairness, consistency and ratepayer equity.
- You bring knowledge of rating administration, property-based revenue systems and the Local Government Act 1999, or the ability to quickly acquire it. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting or a related field are desirable.

About Our Team:





The Rating Services team is responsible for the administration and collection of Council rates, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with legislative requirements. This includes maintaining property records, processing payments, responding to ratepayer enquiries and providing advice on rating policies. The team's work supports the financial sustainability of the Council while ensuring fair and transparent services for the community.

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and is classified at Level 6, with a salary range of $115,349 to $123,019 per annum + Super + Annual Leave Loading + three grace days at Christmas and working flexibly arrangements.
