About Us

Rosebank College has a proud and varied history of over 150 years as part of the Positive Samaritan family established in 1857, and belonging to the Benedictine spiritual and educational tradition founded by St Benedict in the 4th century. The College belongs to the community of ten schools across Australia called Good Samaritan Education (GSE). Established in 2011 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the mission of Good Samaritan Education is to sustain and nurture our Catholic schools as Good Samaritan Benedictine communities of learning.

About the Role

Rosebank College invites applications for the position of History / Religious Education Teacher to join our highly collaborative teaching community in a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position commencing in Term 1, 2027.





The successful applicant will teach History and Religious Education across a range of year levels and collaborate with the History and Religious Education faculties.

We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable and highly effective educator with the ability to teach History and Religious Education across Stages 4 and 5. Experience and capacity to teach Stage 6 History would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, student achievement, faith formation and the broader life of the College, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide engaging, rigorous and contemporary learning experiences.

Our faculties foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and evidence-informed teaching practice. Rosebank College provides strong professional learning and mentoring opportunities to support teachers throughout their professional journey.

All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the pastoral care of students, demonstrate a commitment to the ideals and ethos of Catholic education, and participate in the co-curricular and community life of the College.

Applicants must be excellent classroom practitioners, committed to the care and wellbeing of students, collaborative team members and confident in integrating contemporary pedagogical practices and educational technologies into their teaching.

About You

The successful applicant will be an outstanding educator who is highly motivated to support Rosebank College’s continued academic achievement and faith formation by inspiring and developing innovative learning that engages and values every learner.

To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate:

- Experience as an effective, innovative and engaging teacher of History and Religious Education
- Ability to teach History across Stages 4 and 5
- Ability to teach Religious Education across Stages 4 and 5
- Capacity and/or experience teaching Stage 6 History, which would be highly regarded
- Capacity to contribute to the delivery of Stage 6 Religious Education courses, which would be highly regarded
- Sound knowledge and understanding of current NESA syllabuses and curriculum requirements




- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across the History and Religious Education faculties
- Commitment to contemporary, evidence-informed teaching practices that promote academic excellence
- Ability to use student data effectively to differentiate curriculum and address the learning needs of all students
- Commitment to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching, learning and planning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with students, parents and colleagues
- Current NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW
- A current Working with Children Check
- Commitment to child safeguarding principles and practices
- Willingness to actively support the Catholic ethos and Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition of the College
- Commitment to supporting the College’s Pastoral Care Program, including Home Room responsibilities
- Willingness to contribute to the broader co-curricular and community life of the College
