ABOUT VERSTAND GROUP

Verstand Group is an Australian commercial and project advisory consultancy providing quantity surveying, project management, project controls, commercial assurance, independent financial auditor and contract-administration services across major infrastructure, building and resources projects throughout Australia.

We support clients through the planning, procurement, delivery and close-out of complex projects, combining practical delivery experience with disciplined governance, reporting and commercial control.

As our project pipeline expands, we are building a network of experienced professionals who may be available to support forthcoming assignments in Western Australia.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES

We are interested in hearing from suitably experienced professionals across the following disciplines:

- Project Directors;

- Senior Project Managers and Project Managers;

- Project Controls Managers;

- Project Planners and Schedulers;

- Cost Controllers;

- Commercial and Contracts Managers; and

- other senior project-delivery professionals with relevant infrastructure experience.

These are expressions of interest for several prospective assignments rather than recruitment for one identical position. We do not expect applicants to cover every discipline listed above.

Individual responsibilities, locations, durations and engagement arrangements will depend on the requirements of each assignment. Opportunities may involve Perth-based work, regional travel, site-based attendance, FIFO arrangements or a combination of these.

Potential engagements are subject to Verstand securing the relevant work and receiving any required client approval of nominated personnel.

THE WORK

Depending on your discipline and the particular assignment, responsibilities may include:

- leading or supporting the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects;

- establishing clear governance, reporting, decision-making and escalation arrangements;

- managing scope, program, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder interfaces;

- developing, maintaining and assuring integrated project schedules;

- monitoring progress, forecasting outcomes and identifying emerging delivery risks;

- preparing clear, accurate and decision-useful project reports;

- managing procurement, contract administration, variations,

claims and commercial matters;

- coordinating consultants, contractors, technical specialists and client representatives;

- supporting project controls, cost control, earned-value or performance-measurement processes;

- reviewing contractor programs, progress claims, forecasts and supporting records;

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced project professional who combines practical delivery capability with sound judgement, clear communication and disciplined follow-through.

You understand that successful project delivery requires more than producing reports. You can identify the issues that matter, establish reliable controls, communicate emerging risks early and help project teams make informed decisions.

You are comfortable operating in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders, evolving priorities and demanding time, cost and governance requirements.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

- substantial experience in project management, project controls, planning, cost control, commercial management or contract administration;

- relevant experience on infrastructure, civil, transport, utilities, resources, defence, building or comparable major projects;

Equivalent senior-level project experience will also be considered.

Professional credentials such as AIPM, PMI, Engineers Australia, AIQS, RICS or comparable industry recognition will be viewed favourably where relevant to the position.
