New / Recent Graduate Physiotherapists
Start your career with a permanent role, a broad clinical foundation and supported by a two-year graduate development program.
Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy is recruiting current and recent graduate physiotherapists to commence in early 2027. You will be employed in a permanent full-time position from day one and supported through a structured graduate program across your first two years. At the completion of the two-year program, your permanent employment continues as you progress your career within Active.
WHY START YOUR CAREER WITH ACTIVE?
· Permanent employment from day one, not a fixed term graduate contract
· A comprehensive clinical induction to support your transition from university to practice
· Individual mentoring with experienced physiotherapists who know the opportunities and challenges of early career practice
· Ongoing clinical support from a large and experienced physiotherapy team
· A team learning and development program, including internal education, guest speakers and assistance with continuing education
· Broad clinical experience across hospital rotations, specialist services and musculoskeletal outpatients
· A flexible and supportive work environment with rosters planned in advance. Hours during your initial rotations are generally aligned with the requirements of each clinical area, with greater flexibility as you become established in your role.
· Long term career pathways shaped around your strengths, interests and professional goals
YOUR ROLE
Permanent full time hospital rotational position
You will be based primarily at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and supported to develop experience across critical care, medical, neurosciences, oncology, orthopaedics and surgical wards. Your graduate program will also include exposure to musculoskeletal outpatients. As your experience grows,
opportunities may arise to combine hospital and outpatient work.
The role includes participation in a weekend and public holiday roster. Rosters are planned well in advance, allowing you to prepare for work commitments and time outside work.
THE TEAM YOU WILL JOIN
Active is a long established South East Queensland physiotherapy practice with a large, connected team working across private hospitals and outpatient clinics. Our hospital services include Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Centre for Neurosciences and Brisbane Private Hospital. Our outpatient clinics are located at South Brisbane, Annerley, Highgate Hill and Toowong.
Our physiotherapists work across orthopaedics, neurology, intensive care, surgical and medical care, cardiac care, cancer care, gerontology, vestibular rehabilitation, continence, men's and women's health, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. We also provide extended scope services in collaboration with leading Brisbane medical specialists and clinical education for final year physiotherapy students.
SUPPORT THAT CONTINUES BEYOND ORIENTATION
We know that becoming a confident clinician takes more than a short induction or a compressed graduate program. Our graduate program extends across your first two years, giving you time to build experience, consolidate learning and take on greater responsibility progressively. You will have access to experienced colleagues, individual mentoring, team education and career conversations as you develop.
The graduate program has a defined two-year duration,
but your employment does not end with it. Our approach is to recognise each person's strengths and interests, then help create a continuing career pathway within Active.
We place real value on a positive team culture. You will be part of a workplace where people learn together, ask questions, share knowledge and support one another to provide excellent patient care.
ABOUT YOU
You are a new or recent graduate who wants to build strong clinical foundations in a supportive team. You bring curiosity, professionalism, clear communication and a commitment to evidence based, patient centred care.
· You will have completed an approved physiotherapy qualification and be eligible for full registration with AHPRA before commencing.
· Bond University graduates and students with an alternative graduation timetable are encouraged to apply.
· You are willing to participate in the weekend and public holiday roster associated with the role.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications close: midnight, Sunday 27 September 2026.
Please address your application to Matthew Fels and submit it through Seek.
Please include:
· A cover letter of no more than two pages, including your short and long term career goals
· Your curriculum vitae, including the names and contact details of at least two referees who can comment on your clinical and/or work performance
