Chef De Partie – Ormond College
Location: Parkville, VIC
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range $62,000 - $70,000 plus Super

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Chef de Partie to join the Food Services team at Ormond College. Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll be part of the team delivering an exceptional food and dining experience for our College community. With all catering delivered in-house, there's plenty of variety – from daily meals in our dining hall and Student Cafe offering through to internal and external conferences, functions and events.
This is a full-time position based at Ormond College in Parkville.
In this role, you'll:
- Prepare and deliver high-quality meals across the dining hall, Student Cafe, conferences and events.
- Help create a welcoming dining experience and build positive relationships with College residents.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and service.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen and wider Food Services team.
- Support effective cost control across food, wages, cleaning and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other College departments to deliver a seamless experience for residents, guests and visitors.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional kitchen environment and proactively report hazards or equipment issues.
About You
You're an experienced chef who takes pride in the food you produce and enjoys being part of a busy, professional kitchen. You'll be comfortable working across a variety of services, able to stay organised under pressure and bring a positive, team-focused approach to your work. Just as importantly, you'll understand that at Ormond, food is an key part of the overall experience we create for our residents and community.
You'll bring:
- At least three years' experience in a similar role.
- A relevant trade qualification.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation and professional kitchen operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely, hygienically and professionally.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A high level of initiative, responsibility and reliability.
- Flexible availability to meet the operational requirements of the College.
- Full Australian working rights.
- A current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or the ability to obtain these.
