Maximo Technical Lead – IBM Maximo / EAM $850–$900 per day + super | 6 Month Contract | Hybrid

An excellent opportunity is available for a highly experienced Maximo Technical Lead to join a major NSW Government organisation and provide senior technical leadership across a portfolio of significant IBM Maximo / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced IBM Maximo specialist with a strong technical development background who can lead a team of Maximo developers and take ownership of the end-to-end technical delivery of Maximo solutions, enhancements and development activities.

This is not a purely functional Maximo position. We are looking for someone with deep technical Maximo expertise, combined with proven experience leading developers, managing technical delivery and working across complex enterprise environments.

The opportunity As the Maximo Technical Lead, you will lead and supervise a team of Maximo Developers, ensuring successful technical delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, managers and technical SMEs to deliver Maximo functionality and enhancements while ensuring strong technical standards and quality outcomes.

The successful candidate will play an important role across several major technology initiatives currently in delivery, providing both hands-on Maximo technical expertise and technical leadership.

The underlying JD specifically identifies responsibility for managing technical delivery of a Maximo development team, overseeing end-to-end Maximo delivery through the SDLC and collaborating with business, architecture and technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the technical delivery of IBM Maximo solutions and enhancements
- Lead, mentor and supervise a team of Maximo Developers




- Manage Maximo development activities from design through development, testing and implementation
- Drive end-to-end Maximo technical delivery across the SDLC
- Ensure high standards of development, technical quality and solution delivery
- Provide senior technical expertise across Maximo / Enterprise Asset Management
- Work closely with solution architects, business stakeholders, project managers and technical SMEs
- Support multiple concurrent Maximo and enterprise technology initiatives
- Identify and resolve complex technical and delivery issues
- Provide technical direction and guidance to development teams
- Ensure solutions align with broader enterprise architecture and business requirements

About you We are particularly interested in candidates with 10+ years of relevant technology experience and substantial hands-on experience with IBM Maximo.

You may currently be working as a Maximo Technical Lead, Maximo Lead Developer, Senior Maximo Developer, Maximo Technical Consultant, Maximo Consultant, EAM Technical Lead or similar.

You will ideally demonstrate:

- Extensive IBM Maximo / Maximo Asset Management / EAM experience
- Strong background in Maximo development and technical delivery
- Experience leading or technically supervising Maximo development teams
- Proven experience managing solutions through the full SDLC
- Strong enterprise application development and software delivery experience
- Ability to provide technical direction and resolve complex Maximo issues
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams




- Experience working with architects, developers, SMEs and senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively across multiple concurrent projects and priorities

Previous NSW Government or public-sector experience is not essential but highly desirable. Candidates from large commercial, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, asset-intensive or enterprise environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

The JD classifies the role as a Team Leader and identifies programming/software development as its key technical capability, reinforcing that this is a genuine technical leadership position rather than a general Maximo project-management role.

Contract: Initial 6 months
Start: ASAP, subject to onboarding and checks
Rate: $850–$900 per day + super
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Sydney Olympic Park / Parramatta
Working arrangement: 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH
