TRUCK TECH is looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Chipping Norton workshop.
If you’re currently a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Foreman, Assistant Branch Manager or Leading Hand and ready for more ownership, this could be your next move.
You’ll be responsible for keeping the workshop moving — leading technicians, managing workflow, driving productivity and making sure every job leaves the workshop at the standard our customers expect.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN
This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll take responsibility for the performance of the workshop floor.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting technicians and apprentices
- Planning daily workflow and allocating jobs
- Driving productivity and keeping jobs on schedule
- Monitoring job progress and workshop performance
- Identifying roadblocks and getting them resolved quickly
- Working closely with Service and Parts to minimise downtime
- Maintaining strong safety, quality and compliance standards
- Coaching and developing your workshop team
- Managing subcontractors, vehicle movements and workshop logistics
- Supporting the Branch Manager with overall branch performance
- Taking ownership when things need to get done
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You know heavy vehicles and you know how to lead a workshop team.
You may already be running a workshop, or you could be an experienced Workshop Supervisor, Foreman, Leading Hand or Assistant Branch Manager ready to take the next step.
You’ll need:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology – essential
- Pre-existing full Australian work rights – essential
- Strong heavy vehicle mechanical experience
- Previous workshop leadership or supervisory experience
- Confidence managing and developing technicians
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to drive productivity and accountability
- Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills
- HR or HC Licence highly regarded
