Reporting to the Executive Quality & Practice, this role will lead and develop the Learning and Development and the Quality teams. This role aims to deliver outcomes in line with Sylvanvale’s strategic initiatives whilst continuing to build a strong quality, practice and compliance culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop the quality, practice, safeguarding and compliance capability across the organisation by building a culture of learning and development that supports the strategic, quality and continuous improvement agenda
- Analyse the business workplace to identify current and emerging risks and service improvement initiatives
- Manage changes in Sylvanvale’s risk framework in line with changes in legislation, standards and Sylvanvale strategies and business direction
- Apply commercial acumen to reviewing and recommending business methodologies and technology
- Adhere to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission compliance requirements and to other legislative and regulatory requirements as required
- Oversee implementation of the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS High Intensity Skill Descriptors through upskilling of Sylvanvale workers
About you
You are a confident and values-led leader with strong experience in quality, compliance, safeguarding and practice improvement within disability,
community services or a related sector. You bring sound judgement, commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, sustainable ways of working.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of the disability sector, human rights-based practice and person-centred service delivery.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and agencies involved in services for people with disability.
- Proven track record in effectively implementing organisational wide initiatives, with significant experience influencing teams in building a quality improvement culture
- Demonstrated experience with governance, risk, reporting, quality assurance and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience managing budgets and using data to inform operational and strategic decisions.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Willingness to undertake a Police Check
- Working with Children Check
