Hatchit Studios is seeking an experiencedSenior Automation & Virtualisation Infrastructure Engineerto support afederal government clientin the delivery of secure and scalable infrastructure services.
This role requires deep technical expertise acrossVMware,automation frameworks, andenterprise infrastructure managementwithin highly regulated environments.
About the Opportunity
As part of an established Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a key role in the management, enhancement, and automation ofVMware virtualisation environmentsand associated infrastructure platforms.
You'll design and deliver automation solutions, maintain business-critical systems, and contribute to the ongoing uplift of the government's technology capability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimise VMware environments includingAria Automation,Aria Orchestrator,vSphere,NSX, andSite Recovery Manager.
Develop and maintain automation solutions usingPowerShell,PowerCLI,Ansible, orTerraform.
Deliverdesign, build, and operational documentationto support ICT infrastructure services.
Implement backup, storage, and replication solutions (e.g.,Veeam,NetApp, or equivalent).
Ensure system reliability, compliance,



and alignment with ICT best practices and security frameworks.
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure issues and drive service improvements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience managingVMware environments(vSphere, Aria Automation/Orchestrator, NSX, Cloud Foundation).
Strong automation and scripting capability withPowerShell,PowerCLI,YAML, orAnsible.
Demonstrated experience deliveringdesign, build, and operations documentationin structured ICT environments.
Familiarity withbackup and recovery tools(e.g., Veeam, CommVault, or similar).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Prior experience working infederal government or secure enterprise environments(highly regarded).
Security Clearance:Must hold or be eligible to obtainBaseline Security Clearance(NV1/NV2 highly regarded).
