About the role
The Boilermaker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing metal structures, piping, and equipment. This role involves working from technical drawings to shape, cut, and weld metals to precise specifications. The Boilermaker ensures the durability, safety, and quality of fabricated structures and components.
Key responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Fabricate and assemble metal structures, components, and equipment using tools and machinery.
Cut, shape, and bend metal plates, pipes, and other materials to the required dimensions.
Perform welding tasks using techniques such as MIG, TIG, stick, or oxy-acetylene welding.
Ensure welds meet industry standards and project specifications.
Inspect and test welds to ensure strength and durability.
Repair or replace worn and damaged metal parts on machinery, vehicles, or structures.
Perform routine maintenance on fabricated equipment to ensure protected and effective operation.
Identify and rectify issues with metal components or assemblies.
Adhere to workplace safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
About you
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, Fabricator, or Welder.
3+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field.
Forklift, gantry crane, or elevated work platform (EWP) license.
Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Skilled in using tools and equipment such as grinders, plasma cutters, and drills.
Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift, manoeuvre, and work with heavy materials.
Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or travel to job sites as required.
