About the company

Our client is a well-established Tasmanian forestry organisation managing a large public production forest estate. The organisation balances environmental, social and commercial outcomes across a large forestry estate, with operations spanning land management, forest products, fire management, road construction and maintenance.

The Perth Nursery and Seed Centre plays a key role in supporting reforestation, plantation forestry and native species production. The site produces high-volume forestry seedlings and manages operational and strategic seed stores, supplying internal regions and external customers across Tasmania.

About the role

This role leads a specialist nursery and seed centre through an key succession and capability transition, balancing operational delivery, safety, production reliability, commercial outcomes and stakeholder confidence.

Benefits
Salary up to $135,000 + super
Higher package may be considered for an exceptional candidate

Monday to Friday, 37.5-hour week

Duties
Lead nursery, seed centre, safety and commercial performance




Develop production schedules, seed supply plans and delivery priorities
Manage budgets, labour planning, cost control and productivity
Build team capability through coaching, mentoring and transparent direction
Partner with regions, customers, contractors and suppliers

Skills & experience
Leadership experience in high-volume nursery or production operations
Horticulture, agriculture, forestry nursery or tree crop capability
Business acumen across budgets, labour, costs and customer outcomes
Strong stakeholder, communication and negotiation skills
Cert in Horticulture or Agriculture desirable, but not essential
